History:

As one sign of the organization being on the cutting edge and willing to try things never done before, the Tailfeathers, started in 2000 by Santa Fe, were the first cheerleading squad in the SFL. After two seasons their popularity grew and the squad expanded to represent both teams owned by the organization.

Popularity and demand continued to grow, causing the Tailfeathers to hire a manager, P Diddy, in 2004. Kimber, a former Tailfeather, left the organization in 2006 after being stalked by the commissioner, but returned in 2007 as the squads coach. The Tailfeathers have continued to blossom under the leadership and training of both Diddy and Kimber. In 2008 they were voted more popular and sought after than even the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. In December of 2009 they were voted the cheerleading squad of the decade by Cheerleading Inc.

Now nationally recognized as the leader in cheerleading, the Tailfeathers make numerous appearances all over the country and have helped hundreds and thousands of people with their community and charitable efforts.

This squad will continue to drive excellence, entertain, and motivate players to win championships in the coming years.

Heading into the 2018 season P. Diddy decided to retire and focus on other challenges. To lead the squad into the new era, an alumni and founding member of the Tailfeathers returns to take them to the next level. Britney Spears takes over as the team manager and will work with Kimber to continue to long standing excellence the squad is known for. As the start of the 2018 season Jade and Amber will remain captains, but not actively cheer on gameday with the squad, unless someone is ill. To keep the squads at six actively cheering members, new members were added.

Squad assignments may change throughout the year. In the event that only one team makes the playoffs, both squads are present for the playoff games.

Tailfeather Alumni Association:

The Tailfeather alumni may not be at each game, but are still very involved in many community and social events sponsored by the organization. They also make many special appearances at the facilities, games, and other organizational events. Alumni status is not automatic, as Lindsey Lohan discovered after she was asked to leave due to personal life choices that contradicted organizational values. It is indeed a special and lifetime achievement to be included in the Tailfeather Alumni Association.
